| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Luc Besson (The Fifth Element) made his American directorial debut with Leon, a stylised thriller about a French hit man (Jean Reno) who takes in an American girl (Natalie Portman) being pursued by a corrupt killer cop (Gary Oldman). Oldman is a little more unhinged than he should be, but there is something genuinely irresistible about the story line and the relationship between Reno and Portman. Rather than cave in to the cookie-cutter look and feel of American action pictures, Besson brings a bit of his glossy style from French hits La Femme Nikita and Subway to the production of The Professional, and the results are refreshing even if the bullets and explosions are awfully familiar.--Tom Keogh

Leon(DVD) June 8, 2010 P. Clifford (UK) Leon is an excellent film. With only three main characters (all played well by fine actors) but plenty of action it's a very intelligent movie. Certainly in my all time top 10.
Leon March 30, 2010 S. Dinkelmann (Ireland) Excellent story.Has some violent scenes but expected as he is a hired killer. Bought it for my son as he watched it when he was younger on tv and it made such an impression on him, he always spoke about it.
The hardcore, milk drinking hero of all time October 10, 2009 Jay K (Scotland) When anyone asks what is one is one of the greatest films of all time, Leon must, MUST be mentioned.
The acting performance given by Natalie Portman is outstanding considering she was basically a child during production and her on screen relationship with Jean Reno (Leon) is phenominal.
One of the fantastic things about this film is that it dares to be. Its extremely contraversial for obvious reasons if you watch the film and yet, I think its almost impossible to be offended by it. It does not try to be offensive or contraversial, it simply tells a story. It is what it is.
Its a dark and somewhat twisted film and yet it is so beautifully written that takes brings the audience through so much emotion that you actually feel physically drained by the end of it all.
The skillfully brings together brilliant dialogue, fantastic acting (especially from Gary Oldman) and a devastatingly amazing ending.
You must watch this film...you will NEVER look at milk in the same way. :)

A TRUE 1995 CLASSIC!! June 17, 2009 Jason Thorne (England / Oxford) I was having a sort out in my DVD collection and there it was looking at me so you guessed it on it went. Many other reviewers below me have told you the story so I won't bore you again with it. The story, acting and action is some of the best you will see from a film that was first released in 1995 never mind today. If you haven't seen this film it is well worth finding and buying because it is truely a class film with one of the better actors leading the line Jean Reno.
