True to the series August 28, 2010 Jake.s I watched this yesterday and all in all i thought it was quite a good film that was true to the Final Destination series. I would have to say this film has one of the best opening and closing titles I have seen. The acting was ok not amazing and the deaths were quite creative though some of them seem a little on the silly side. Most of the deaths make you giggle slightly as well not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I though this film had A slightly more gothic feel. I would have liked there to be more questions answered considering this was meant to be the last film however these questions are probably answered in the upcoming fifth film. However overall I thought this was quite a good film which fit in with the rest of the series.
The same old story over again August 27, 2010 Ian Nind (UK) I can't believe I actually sat through this movie. What is the point of it ??? A group of teens/adults avoid death by virtue of a premonition. Then one by one they all start dying in the most ridiculously contrived manner. Just like the last 3. Once again we have people running around trying to work out how to stop their ineviatable death and once again, no matter what they do, they all die by the end. I think boring, repetetive, just plain stupid are the most appropriate words to describe it. Please don't let them make another one.
If you haven't seen the others you might enjoy this, but I can't really see why. It's so predictable and dull.
I didn't see it in 3D. I suppose that might give it a little extra edge over the others, but in all honesty can 3D really make that much difference. I doubt it.
Avoid this film.
Destined for bargain bins across the land August 14, 2010 Captain Pugwash (UK) As usual the law of diminishing returns applies here; the fourth 'Final Destination' installment offers much the same fare - good looking teens are slaughtered in various imaginative ways despite their attempts to avoid the inevitable - but any last shred of originality has long since disappeared.
I suppose the worst thing about this franchise is that it makes absolutely no attempt to move the idea at the heart of the movies on, and as a consequence each of the four films is pretty much identical to the others apart from the fact that there is a different cast in each one.
So ultimately this is an okay way to while away a dull winter's evening or a chance to have a laugh with a bunch of mates, but there's little else to commend what is another soulless Hollywood confection.
This really is a top drawer teen horror/thriller August 10, 2010 Rebecca (county durham, UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This really is a top drawer teen horror/thriller film.Coming out around the same time as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer and a host of other teen slasher flicks this very clever horror film moved away from the killer stalking teens to death himself coming to collect souls.
After seeing the plane he is onboard explode in mid air Alex (Sawa) freaks out and is removed from the plane along with 6 others moments later his nightmare becomes reality as the plane explodes in mid air. This begins death's design after cheating death by walking off the plane death quickly comes back around for the remaining 7 friends forcing Alex to work out deaths plan and attempt to cheat death for a second time.
A superb cast well directed and moving at break neck speed this is a superb film that is the best of the 3 films in the series. The clever thing in this film for me was moving away from the human killer stalking teens to something far creepier in death himself,The death scenes become more and more elaborate and gory as death racks up his body count and the tension that these scenes build is excellent.
A brilliant film well worth having in your collection
Not the best film August 4, 2010 LouJess (uk) If you have seen any of the previous 3 final destination films you will have a rough idea what they are about, they are based on somebody that experiences premonitions(can see what will happen in a certain situation before it happens),I did not enjoy this one as much as the first 2 films( they should have stopped after no 2).
The story is a group of 4 friends that go to a speedway, when one of them has a premonition that an accident is going to happen and people in the audience will be killed. They all end up leaving only to end up being killed in the same order that they would have been killed whilst going about their everyday lives.
This film lacks a good storyline, the graphics are really poor, I found myself struggling to stay awake until the end. If you don't mind watching a film which is quite slow and very predictable then give it a go.
