A Disgrace for Blu Ray! December 23, 2009 Ian Moody (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am actually quite shocked at how terrible the picture quality is on this Blu Ray. Its grainy and frequently out of focus. Why oh why did they decide to use film cameras? Rather than proper HD video cameras. I have sent my copy back.
so so Minogue.. December 16, 2009 Mad Fan (Manchester UK) Its Kylie, what else is there to say??? Expect the usual camp, kitsch over the top production which always manages to look a tad amateur when measured up next to Madonna or Pink. She sings ok live but its pop music, her own, which never really stretches her vocal capabilities. I found this show to be a bit bland, well put it this way, take away those oversized video screens behind her and you are left with pretty much nothing! She doesnt dance very well, infact she doesnt dance at all. After watching this im asking why she's still even around today?! Of course the die hards will screech that she's a genius but all i saw on the night was a lot of fuss over nothing, the show dragged desperatley in parts relying on themes Madonna explored decades ago during Blond Ambition and the Girly Show, a Japonaise segment was almost identicle to the one Madonna did during her 2001 Drowned World tour and for those fans who yell "she did it before Madonna as a geisha in 1998 during the video for GBI", STOP!!!! Madonna toured Japan in 1994 to promote Bedtime Stories and appeared in several adverts dressed as a bona-fide geisha girl, Check! Didnt Madonna start the whole pop-concert as theatre anyway???? Back in 1990 she set a trend you see for adding theatre, segments and drama to the stadium gigs, i guess you could say Kylie ripped the blue print and made it her own, this though lacks any drama. Confessions was a triumph, The Fun House tour was leagues ahead. As for the quality of the DVD im sending it back, i didnt like the tour anyway and im not kean on her either.
EXPLOSIVE ! A SHOW LIKE NO ONE ELSE !!! November 19, 2009 gaulp2001 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Disappointing... the dream on a concert begin to "try to catch himeself"... in fact... It's disappear little to little... with no words and with many many marketing for buying the last show. Clearly, the artists, the producers... have to... changes... but, it's the most of the time in a horrible way... At last !!!! The show like the previous Kylie "White diamond"... is amazing. "Full of dreams" for the spectator and techniquely very impressive... voices, songs, dancers, production... All it's in !!!! Very very rare... To see... to keep... full of sensations, of good feelings, touch the perfection !!!! BUY !!!!!!!!! :)Were the World MineWere the World Mine [DVD] [2008]White Diamond / Show Girl Homecoming [DVD] [2007]Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince [Blu-ray] [2009]Star Trek XI (3-Disc Edition) with Bonus Digital Copy [Blu-ray] [2009]Were the World Mine... VERY DISAPOINTING !! November 17, 2009 Mr. M. A. King (HEREFORD, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I STUMBLED ACROSS THE KYLIE LIVE X2008 CONCERT ON SATELITE LAST WEEK & REALLY ENJOYED IT. THE PICTURE & SOUND QUALITY WAS GOOD. I WAS SO TAKEN I SAID TO THE WIFE 'I BET THAT WILL BE STUNNING ON BLUE RAY',SO ON FRIDAY WE ORDERED IT. RECEIVED THE DISC TODAY & PUT IT ON MY BLUE RAY PLAYER & AWAITED WITH GREAT ANTICIPATION. I WAS STUNNED !! THE PICTURE QUALITY WAS EQUAL TO THAT OF VHS TWENTY YEARS AGO,VERY GRAINY,& I THOUGHT THE SOUND QUALITY WAS ONLY OK. THE SATELITE BROADCAST WAS SO MUCH BETTER. IT IS A DISGRACE THAT FREEMANTLE MEDIA CAN RELEASE SUCH A POOR QUALITY BLU-RAY OF A TOP ARTIST AND IT MUST BE A VERY BIG DISAPOINTMENT TO KYLIE FANS OUT THERE - IT IS TO ME !
Great.....superb November 12, 2009 Martin J. Clarke (uk) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
