Sheffield United Blades Christmas Cracker (Video Tape/PAL) 1992

The last two football seasons had seen the Blades make disastrous starts, with the club facing almost certain relegation by December, only to storm rapidly up the League table after the turn of the year. To break the jinx Dave Bassett decided to make Christmas come early to Bramall Lane, donning a white beard and scarlet cloak, in August, to give his squad a pre-season psychological boost! And the trick seemed to have worked, as United romped to a 2-1 victory over the mighty Manchester United on the opening day of the new Premier League. In the "Blades Christmas Cracker" we join the team for training, and take a look at "Harry's" own style of keeping team spirits high, judge them for yourself and watch out for the best of Blades action so far this season, including the atmospheric local Derby against old rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
