Amazon.co.uk Review There was an understandable mix of emotions bubbling to the surface when the final episode of Battlestar Galactica was finally broadcast in the first half of 2009. On the one hand, this has proven to be vintage science fiction television, easily one of the most ambitious, daring and flat-out successful TV projects in recent times. And on the other, it’s all over, with this box set bringing together the final episodes of the show. Inevitably, this final season wraps up many of the mysteries and narrative questions of Battlestar Galactica, none of which we intend to spoil here. The fate of humanity, the hunt for the fabled earth and the further revelations about the Cylons are packed in, and the standard throughout this final season remains sky high. The actual ending itself, as it happens, proved quite divisive, but arguably that’s part of the strength of Battlestar Galactica. Because this is a show that, right to the end, doesn’t take the easy road, and delivers some of the most intelligent, dark drama of recent years. It’s a staggering achievement, and this final season, along with the entirety of the show itself, is set to still be talked about decades into the future. Quite brilliant, and not to be missed. --Jon Foster

Good, exciting, sit on edge of your seat stuff! February 25, 2010 Michael Hewitt I have so far watched the 1st 2 episodes of this final series and its good - not sure whether is better then series 4 but it certainly has the potential.
If you like the Battlestar Galactica series - you will enjoy this.
Also It was delivered in very good time and in great condition.
thats all folks February 21, 2010 xl5 (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not a usual storyline for a US show - basically God is directly responsible for the deaths of billions and billions of innocent men, women, and children in order to get a couple of thousand to Earth, most of whom are presumably telephone sanitisation engineers.
Looks like the TV/cinema version of SF has a way to go before it catches up with the "real stuff".
( although FAQ About Time Travel is brilliant, but probably not to the taste of most BSG stalwarts ).
fantastic February 20, 2010 Chiara Sabatini these are the fantastic last episodes of Battlestar Galactica
this is a MUST for all the fans of this series
the rhythm is fast as always
the actors play really very good
A somewhat unsatisfactory conclusion. February 17, 2010 Dimmer Thanmost (France) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This `remainder of season four' excuse for a season continues to fail to deliver the promise of the earlier seasons. There are, however, some cracking episodes where it feels like the writers have rediscovered their original drive, but unfortunately the concluding episodes are marred by yet more irrelevant flash-backs which do nothing but interrupt the narrative flow. The sci-fi continues to be secondary to religious gibberish - for example, the miraculous discovery in the last episode could so easily have been attributed to an FTL jump so close to the event horizon of a black hole with its inevitable time dilation effects but no, it had to be divine providence.
What a shame! One of the most promising space operas of recent years lost its way and just fizzled out rather then ending with a bang.
It's okay February 11, 2010 THMS (West Sussex, England) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the entire Battlestar Galactica for research purposes - being a writer who doesn't want to use other writer's ideas by accident. (Both BSG & SG Atlantis use FTL drives, by the way!). Well, I enjoyed it well enough but what's with all the sex? Surely, it seemed that if the writer's reached a dry spell, they slotted in a sex scene! It got a bit monotonous! (did I spell that right?)
Anyway, I wasn't sure I was going to like a female Starbuck but she grew on me. I had hoped that the tension between Commander Adama and Apollo would have continued on from the 'movie' or pilot episodes into the first season, but it didn't. Never mind.
Okay, so I enjoyed it enough to buy each box set, one at a time. I'm sure it would be more entertaining for those who hadn't seen the orginal series, like me. 6/10.
