Amazon.co.uk Review With the knockout one-two punch of 1992's Reservoir Dogs and 1994's Pulp Fiction writer-director Quentin Tarantino stunned the filmmaking world, exploding into prominence as a cinematic heavyweight contender. But Pulp Fiction was more than just the follow-up to an impressive first feature, or the winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival, or a script stuffed with the sort of juicy bubblegum dialogue actors just love to chew, or the vehicle that re-established John Travolta on the A-list, or the relatively low-budget ($8 million) independent showcase for an ultrahip mixture of established marquee names and rising stars from the indie scene (among them Samuel L Jackson, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Walken, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer, Julia Sweeney, Kathy Griffin and Phil Lamar). It was more, even, than an unprecedented $100-million-plus hit for indie distributor Miramax. Pulp Fiction was a sensation. No, it was not the Second Coming (I actually think Reservoir Dogs is a more substantial film; and PT Anderson outdid Tarantino in 1997 by making his directorial debut with two even more mature and accomplished pictures, Hard Eight and Boogie Nights). But Pulp Fiction packs so much energy and invention into telling its nonchronologically interwoven short stories (all about temptation, corruption, and redemption amongst modern criminals, large and small) it leaves viewers both exhilarated and exhausted--hearts racing and knuckles white from the ride. (Oh, and the infectious, surf-guitar-based soundtrack is tastier than a Royale with Cheese.) --Jim Emerson

Hapy customer August 16, 2010 Shona Malone (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very happy with the condition of DV and the time it took to get to me, thank you!
I don't get it... August 6, 2010 J. Baratti (tulsa, OK) How could this be a Region A US Import? This movie has not been released in the United States on Blu-Ray yet.
Classic March 31, 2010 Anthony Michael Smith (Dubai, UAE) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The cult film to end all cult films.
This is what Tarantino will be remembered for.
Exceptional.
One of the best films ever March 30, 2010 B This classic film may seem a bit odd at 1st, with it's swapping around with the timeline (i.e. it seems like they made the film and then reshuffled various sections round). But when you get used to that, you will find the film brilliant. It has a lot of diffrent little inter-combined stories in it, which makes it very good. The music forPulp Fiction is really good and the sound track is worth having as well. This film is exciting and keeps moving and dosn't have a boring moment. It has a brilliant start and leave's you with a mystery by the end (just like the Italien Job)
Great film buy it is one of the best films ever.
NOT FOR THE MOTHER-IN-LAW March 27, 2010 Mr. M. Jacobs (stockport, cheshire United Kingdom) I,ve seen this film so many times and the DVD is starting to lose it's sound quality, so I have purchased a replacement on VHS ( Worth keeping your old system ). Tremendous film, with lots of swagger & swearing. Their are so many excellent scenes in this film, but I have chosen two, the Dance scene in the club with John Travolta & Uma Thurman & the best scene of all in my opinion, is Uma Thurman drugged up to the eyeballs dancing & singing to "GIRL, YOU'LL BE A WOMAN SOON" This film needs to be seen late at night with the sound full on ( Hence the VHS ) & Yes it's not for the faint hearted but boy, does it have an effect. One of the best Hard Core movies ever made. A special mention too to Samuel L Jackson for his unique and rightly award winning performance. Phew
