This was a choice I made purely on feelings after reading the reviews and I'm glad I did as this is a wonderful British show starring the delightful Lesley Sharp as Alison Mundy the psychic medium and Andrew Lincoln as the psychology lecturer.
There's something about Lesley Sharp in this that I swear if I bumped into her in the street I'd ask for a reading as she just looks and feels the part of a psychic medium. There's not the same gloss with this as the various American shows like Medium and Ghost Whisperer but don't get me wrong this is much more gritty and realistic as we see Alison (Lesley) tormented by certain spirits. Expect a roller-coaster of a ride as it is emotional in quite a few places and I confess to welling up several times. I felt a part of this series and experienced the highs and lows emotionally with Alison and Robert and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Superb English actor, Lesley Sharp, plays reluctant and emotionally damaged clairvoyant. She is teamed up with Andrew Lincoln as the sceptic college tutor. These two, plus a wonderful supporting cast, excellent script-writing and production values and no over-the-top situations or ridiculous special effects, make marvellous viewing in each episode.
You don't need to suscribe to the theory of an afterlife to enjoy this remarkable and entirely believable series - but by the end of it, you may wish you did.

I really liked the show and was greatly anticipating the opportunity to own the DVDs. The problem was that I was unaware that DVDs are created by Region. There are nine regions around the world. I live in the USA, which is region 1. These DVDs were created for region 2. They would not play on my DVD player, so I had to send them back. Apparently this show does not have DVDs that were created for region 1. That is a shame because I'm sure that I'm not the only fan who lives in region 1. This show is shown on a few channels in the USA. It would be great if the creators of this DVD series would make some for use in the USA.

I read a lot of reviews for this and bought it based on those reviews. It was very watchable but depressing to be honest and not really gripping. I could easily stop watching this in the evening, not like some of the other boxsets where you just have to know what happens next.
This was sort of okay. If they had more series of this I am not sure I would have purchased them.
