"Jump in we'll take you for a spin / And show you round the Wheelie World." For pretty much anyone between the ages of 25 and 40, merely the opening line of the theme to this crazed slice of cartoon bedlam will be enough to jog memories and pluck heartstrings. For everyone else, a brief synopsis is probably in order. Well, self-evidently there's Chorlton, the least intimidating dragon in television history, whose unexplained arrival among the Wheelies is a constant source of vexation to Fenella, a spectacularly ineffective witch with a base camp at Spout Hall (yes, it's a big kettle) and a cadre of mushroom-like toadies and "spikers" with whom she consorts to bring havoc to Wheelie World. Oh, and she also has a son, who only ever appears as a vast, disembodied foot.On the second volume, we begin with "Chorlton Gets His Wheels" itself, before plunging into the outright mayhem of "The Giant Drought", "The Wheel hockey Derby", "Many Happy Returns", and the near-epic "Dancing Lesson". Needless to say, the ever-apopleptic Fenella remains hysterical throughout. --Danny Leigh

A Great bit of Seventies nostalgia January 24, 2003
I was a Seventies Child - although born in the Summer of 1969, much of my life was in the 70's. Chorlton was my all time favourite programme. The 'Big Spotty Lump' returns in this video form. It was originally bought for my Fathers 73rd Birthday in November ( we are both fans and Kids at heart !!!), i ended up watching it myself before wrapping it up !!! Silly stories, silly dragons, silly Welsh Witches who pop up around everywhere, this grips even my three year old daughter and my 6 year old twins neices.
NOSTALGIA ??? GREAT STUFF !!!!!

Chorlton and the Wheelies is one of those shows that many people can remember loving as a child, but few can remember the details. Having seen this, I can safely say my memory wasn't playing tricks on me. The storylines are inventive and funny and I would recomend this to anyone who has vague menories of the original, and even those who haven't.

At last my favorite show from when I was a smaller child has been released on video. Chorlton, complete with north of England accent, the evil witch that lived in a teapot and tried to trick Chorlton every week and Chorlton's friends The Wheelies made this one of the most genuinly surreal series I have ever seen.It used to frighten the hell out of my older brother but I loved it. Bring out more as soon as you can, watch this tape and spread the word..the wheelies are back!
